My mamaji had been very much involved with my career details and he supports me with whatever he can, He is the one who is telling me from beginning not to settle abroad.
My mamaji went with me for money exchange yesterday and i had a incident worth sharing!,(read mamaji's lines in a punjabi accent)
We were riding on an activa with mamaji continuously speaking wid me.
Mamaji - "Shunty Beta bahut bahut mubarakaan, mehnat saffal hogi teri te tere papa mummy di
me - Haan ji mamaji, dekhte hain kya banta hain.
Mamaji - haan puttar waqt balwaan hain te rabb da nam lette raheen.
me- Ji
Mamaji - Ik gal palle band le bahr settle hon ni naan sochein - thoda kamaa leaayengaa but waapis aana apne desh ..ch hi hega ( he might have told me ~ 50 times since last six months :-) )
me - Ji"
We reached Sec 32, and went to a currency exchange outlet, and asked for 500 Euros, he said please pay 30K rupees, I had 70 notes of `500/- first I counted then mamaji and we paid him that bunch of ~ 5-8 cms tall rupee notes!
He went inside, came after 5 mins with few(mind here FEW) papers rolled in his hand, and handed me 7 notes of different denominations. These were 500 euros.
(Holding those 7 notes in my hand instead of 5 cms thick 500 notes, i first time experienced and realized the difference in economy so closely)
Mamaji with an amused gesture took Euro notes from me and had a deep look at those notes, asked him - "kamm ho gyaaa", i replied haan ji!
We came out and he said, "Shunty bass ee satt note dete hain isne, aiye hi 500 euros", I nodded
We walked till our activa in a silence,
Upon reaching there he had a grin on his face, he returned me the Euro notes,
and said "Shunty koi madi gal bhi ni haegi agar ttu Ik saal foreign laga bhi aaanda hai to"
I looked at him and we both burst into laughter!!!!!
